Emily Gallagher, a soprano admired for her ability to interpret repertoire ranging from classical to contemporary has most recently been seen as Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro at Carnegie Mellon University and as Mother in the world premiere of Elliot Yokum and Sarah Barker’s Starsong, part of the Compōs-it Opera Festival. Emily has sung with the Carnegie Mellon Wind and Baroque ensembles, and last year she sang the role of Carolina in Carnegie Mellon’s production of Il matrimonio segreto.
Upcoming engagements include Diana in Ramin Akhavijou and Lauren D’Errico’s Languagemachine with Pittsburgh Co-Opera, and covering the role of Nada in Svadba at Carnegie Mellon University. This summer, Emily will be singing the roles of Suor Genovieffa in Suor Angelica and Kimberly in The School of Marital Happiness at the Vienna Summer Music Festival in addition to covering the role of Adele in Die Fledermaus.
Emily is completing her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Vocal Performance at Carnegie Mellon University this spring and is a student of Maria Spacagna.
