2019-20 • 77th Season

Dear Musicians and Friends of the Pittsburgh Concert Society:

Because of the rapidly changing situation surrounding the novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), we are canceling auditions
scheduled for this Saturday, March 14, at Kresge Theatre, Carnegie Mellon University.

The concerts on the following dates are also canceled or postponed:

* Sunday March 29 (Young Artists Concert)
• Sunday April 19 (Young Artists Concert)

Looking ahead, we will post updates for the following by the end of March:

• Friday April 17 (Major Artist Auditions)
• Saturday April 18 (Major Artist Auditions)
• Sunday June 7 (Alumni Concert)

We are very sorry for the inconvenience and disappointment over these cancelations.

Out of an abundance of caution, Carnegie Mellon University, where our auditions and concerts take place, has moved in-person classes to online, and is not allowing any meetings, concerts, recitals, or rehearsals to take place on campus until further notice. We share Carnegie Mellon’s conclusion that we must keep the safety and well-being of our musicians and our audiences as our highest priority.

We also apologize for the late notice - the situation has evolved rapidly, and until today there was still some hope that we could continue as scheduled.

We will be in touch with you in the coming days regarding future scheduling for auditions and concerts.

Both Young Artists Concerts Are Cancelled.
